Partnership for Children Hosts John Rosemond "Parenting the Strong Willed Child"

When my oldest daughter was 2, she decided she wasn’t going to ride in her stroller anymore. Nothing I did could convince her to get back in, so from that day forward, we went everywhere at the pace of a two year old! When she was 8, she decided she didn’t need to take the bus home from school anymore. Unfortunately, she told us that by walking home one day along a busy road that crossed a freeway! She did it two more times before her principal and I were able to convince her it wasn’t smart. At times like these I wished I had a magic wand that would stop the arguments and disagreement.

Turns out I didn’t need a magic wand after all. I just needed to change some of my parenting tactics. If you are in a similar situation, you don’t want to miss “Parenting the Strong Willed Child” by John Rosemond on April 21 at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville. The Partnership for Children (PFC) is hosting the nationally known parenting expert, author, and syndicated columnist to celebrate the Week of the Young Child. In the presentation he will “outline a virtually fail-safe formula for successful discipline of not only the child who is strong willed, but any child.”* This is his most popular presentation, and it promises to entertain as well as educate.

The presentation begins at 6:30 pm. There are a limited number of spaces left. To ensure everyone gets a seat, the Partnership for Children is asking parents who are interested in coming to please RSVP by Monday, April 20 to the Partnership’s Professional Development Career Center at (910) 867-9700. For more information, you can also contact Sherie McNeil, PFC Professional Development Manager at smcneil@ccpfc.org.
