Tina, there's a great book, Try and Make Me! by Levy and O'Hanlon. You can get it through any bookseller. It has very effective advice. Another thing that I might consider is offering your children a choice between doing one of two things (both of which will get the job done). For example, you can ask them if they want to take a bath before or after they brush their teeth. No matter what they choose, both will get done and will think that have CONTROL (but you do).
