Operation Homefront of North Carolina announces the launch of OPERATION: ABC to help provide young military families (ranks E1-E6) with baby needs including a brand new Kolcraft highchair. The program will hold an event possibly four times per year to provide baby and child supplies that are donated to Operation Homefront through the K.I.D.S. Foundation.
This special holiday event of OPERATION: ABC will take place on Friday, December 18, 2009, from 10:00-1:00 pm at the Armed Services YMCA, Bldg. 2-2411 Jackson St., Ft. Bragg, NC 28307. E1-E6 Families must register online at
http://www.operatio nhomefront. net/nc. Families with babies born between March 1, 2009 and Midnight on December 17, 2009 will qualify. Proof of birth with a birth certificate or hospital documentation is required along with military ID. (Those with later birth dates may register for the next event when the date is set).
"On behalf of Kolcraft and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) we are delighted to be able to provide high chairs to the children of military families. We believe that families struggling while their loved ones are fighting to protect our country should have available to them all the resources they need to raise healthy and well adjusted children. We thank Operation Homefront for all it does to provide a secure and comfortable environment for our most precious citizens." Tom Koltun, President, Kolcraft Enterprises, Janice Weinman, President, K.I.D.S.
In the next few months, we hope to take this program on the road to access our Marine, Navy and Air Force partners in the state. North Carolina is especially busy in providing our country with thousands of trained brave military who are fighting in complicated and dangerous wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. With over 25,000 deployed and thousands of others preparing for upcoming deployments, we want to ensure to the families that we are here on the homefront to care for their families", says Jane Weaver-Sobel, President of the Operation Homefront of North Carolina. "These families deserve the amount of support equal to their sacrifice to our country", she added.
