I thought that slowly weaning the baby would reduce my production enough so that I wouldn't end up engorged and in pain.  Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to relieve the pain/pressure and to dry up my milk?  We are completely weaned now.

Thanks.

I had to go away for the weekend (a ski trip, actually) to get weened from my baby. It was painful at first, but I pumped when it was absolutely necessary, and I didn't completely drain for fear of producing more. A weekend away was all it took. I pumped once I believe, and that was all that was needed. Then I took some advil for discomfort and enjoyed having some wine again.

I've heard that you should pump just enough to feel relief and that it should stop soon.
