Hi Lena,
I hope you are doing ok, and congrats to your ob doc to see that you need help in keeping this baby. You should have come thru ok, and are resting well. The doc simply tied suture around your cervix to prevent you from going in to premature labor and losing the baby. Before you are due, you'll have an exam and the suture will be cut so that the loops will let your cervix start opening. I hope they explained it to you while it was being done, and you are at ease. Congrats and good luck. Do you know what you are having?
Blessings

Thanks for the explanation, Pattianne.

So how are you doing, Lena? I pray that everything went well and that the baby is squirming all around. Are you starting to feel him/her move now? If not, you should soon. I felt movement during both of my pregnancies around Week 18.

I didn't have any experience with cervical cerclage, though. The American Pregnancy Association has good information. Their Web site, www.americanpregnancy.org, might be helpful.

Take care,
Mary
