Anyone else TERRIBLE at getting the pictures off of them? I finally did mine last night and I had pictures from May still on there. I don't know why I wait so long... it just makes it harder to get them all edited and organized.

I really had to make it a habit to take a few minutes on a weekend and do a little organizing. Even if it was just a few simple folders- "Trip to beach June 08" or "Kids playing in yard summer 08".

One thing that really did help me was I started checking the little box to remove the pictures from the camera after downloading. If you do that, at least that batch of pictures is in a single folder, ready for organizing.... when you get to it. :-)

On the subject of pictures- I highly recommend that you either burn your pictures periodically to a CD/DVD, or buy some sort of external hard drive and do regular backups. I didn't realize how important this was until a lightning strike took out my computer- and I realized I had the last 4 or 5 years of family photos on there and NO BACKUP. Thankfully, we were able to recover it all.... but if it had been the hard drive that fried instead of the power supply- no pictures.

I know some folks who even periodically go through their photos, pick the best, and upload them to a site that will make prints of them, for a fee, of course.

It's not so much a problem getting the pictures off - I take so many in just the course of a week that I run out of room and have to remove them. BUT, I never print the things! I have three years, THREE YEARS, of photos to print. It's outrageous. I actually held off on buying a digital camera just for that reason. I knew I would never print them, and here I am, no printing happening.

Not a big issue with me. I just download the picutures that day and create a folder with the date the photos took place.

Instead of printing pictures why not let my business "Memories in Motion" burn them for you to a DVD and add your favorite music. We are running a special right now through December 20. Up to 100 pictures and 4 songs for just $50.00. These will make beautiful gifts for grandparents, or the family that lives far away, but you would like to keep them updated. You can either send us your pictures or you can e-mail them to us. We are a new company but so far we have done DVD's for weddings, graduation open houses, and funerals. Just wanted to give you another option, and let you know about my company.
